Our ETA has been revised!

ETA 12/0373 for timber construction screws and ETA 18/0829 for timber-concrete composites have been comprehensively updated and adapted to current requirements.

Here you will find an overview of the most important new features and changes.

New for ETA-12/0373 for our timber construction screws

Metal to timber connections

Calculation of metal to timber connections with t ≥ d as thick steel plate using screws with flat head support. (Also for large hole tolerances.)

Rope effect

Higher resistance by removing the limitation of the rope effect in shear connections.

Hardwood

RAPID® and RAPID® FT with HSP permitted in hardwood without pre-drilling. In the table opposite: maximum screw-in and through-screw depth of RAPID® screws without pre-drilling in a hardwood component (e.g. LVL beech) with ρk ≤ 730 kg/m³. 

Stiffness of a screw connection

Mechanical model for determining the (spring) stiffness of a connection with partial and full thread screws, as well as parameters for head pull-through slip modulus.

Roof insulation

Specific buckling values for RAPID® Top-2-Roof (based on shank diameter).
Smaller rafter width permitted when using screws with Ø 6 mm. Particularly advantageous for façade applications.

Eurocode

Appendix 10 contains the conversion of the ETA variable to the new Eurocode (EN 1995-1-1:2025) and the parameters based on it.

New with ETA-18-0829 for timber-concrete composite structures

RAPID® FT

RAPID® FT Ø 8 mm and Ø 10 mm (fullthread screws, cylinder head and countersunk head) from L = 240 mm approved for TCC.

Lightweight concrete

Composite with lightweight concrete, fibre-reinforced with RAPID® T-Con (partial thread) permitted. 

30° screw connections

In addition to the previously approved screw-in angles (45°, 90°, 135°), 30° screw connections are now also permitted.

Calculations

Calculations are also permitted in accordance with technical specification CEN/TS 19103.
